Welcome to Tria Operating System

Tria Operating System detects hardware and software specs of the PC where you run the program, offering you to load this info or specify it manually to let the program inform you what would be the best operating system for a specific PC, with the specified hardware, and then see the difference by adding RAM, a SSD hard drive, changing the graphics card ... etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I started June 2020 with Visual Basic 2017 Express. July 2020 also with Gambas 3.12.2 for PC's with Linux. Late 2021 I switched to Gambas 3.16.3. Now Gambas 3.19.4. Between 2021 and 2024 I use VirtualBox and different Visual Basic .net (VB 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012 Express; also Visual Basic 2019 and now 2022 Community Edition) to make the program usable on as many computers as possible ; both new and manufactured 30 years ago, both small and large, both servers and desktop PCs. Since September 2022 I use Visual Basic 6 for the 90's edition, for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.

For Linux, you need Gambas 3.3 or later. 90's EDITION needs minimum 160 MB (192 MB on a virtual machine) of RAM and works with Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. BRONTOSAURUS EDITION needs DirectX 9.0c and .Net Framework 2.0 and runs on Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME and Windows 2000. XP EDITION needs .Net Framework 4.0 and runs on Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003, 2003 R2, Home Server and Server 2008. STANDARD EDITION requires .Net Framework 4.8 or 4.8.1 and runs on Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and any newer Windows (any Windows published from 2009 until today).

Anyone who loves free software will be welcome to collaborate with whatever, how and when they want, with the only condition that they respect the work done in this project since June 2020. The only role already filled is that of project leader, responsible for deciding what to change, remove and add, when and how. Any recommendation to improve the program is accepted, but if a recommendation implies many hours of work ... before recommending anything, think what part of that work you will do and what part you expect to be done, so nobody wastes time.

A) Share my knowledge about operating systems, especially Windows and Linux, and computers, since 1986 until today.
B) Re-learn Visual Basic .Net, since I didn't use it for many years and learn more about the .Net Framework.
C) Learn to program on Linux. It is my first program with Gambas and one of the first in Linux (small scripts in Bash).
D) Create a free software project in which everyone can participate. E-mail me and you will make me happy.
